Principal’s page

Welcome to Irving Elementary! My name is Larry Perlman and I am in my third year of serving as the principal of this wonderful school. We have wonderful teachers, support staff and students and encourage you to get involved at Irving.

I have been an administrator in Wichita since 1994, working at Anderson, Minneha, Earhart, and Irving elementary schools. My educational career began as a special education teacher at Levy Special Education Center in Wichita, working with students with severe and multiple disabilities.

I was born and grew up in and near Chicago, and attended the University of Illinois, the University of Kansas, and Wichita State University. I moved to Wichita in 1987 and am married to Joyce, who works at a local high school. We have two wonderful children, Sam who is 14 and Sierra who is 11. I have had the privilege of serving as their principal during parts of their elementary school career.

I also spend some of my outside time working as a DJ. It is true! I enjoy playing music for weddings and school dances throughout the year.

I am dedicated to serving the families and staff at Irving.
